3 Squamish Minor Hockey Midget Players make Scholarship Team

Bryce Hurlbert, Jarrad Wilhelm and Corey Koop will be playing in the January 10th Midget Scholarship game in Squamish.
All 3 grade 12 students qualified academically and then were successful during the try out camps held during the Christmas Holidays.

Graduating Midget players only (17 years old as of December 31st of the current season), who have not previously participated in the Tournament. Scholastic Ability Requirement - To be eligible, a player must have attained a minimum C+ average in the most recent school reporting period. A C+ average is defined as a minimum 2.50 Grade Point Average based on a 4.0 grade point scale (A=4.0, B=3.0, C+=2.5, C=2.0, C-=1.5, D or I=1.0, E=0.0). No attempt will be made to assess the difficulty of the course load taken by the player (e.g., vocational vs. academic subjects). Sportsmanship Requirement - Any player having incurred a Match Penalty or Gross Mis-conduct during the current season shall be ineligible for participation in the Tournament. In addition, players may be disqualified for excessive penalty minutes upon review of their pen-alty record. Minimum Association Representation - A minimum of one player from each Association entering a Midget "A" team shall be selected to the final Tournament teams, provided the Midget "A1" team from that Association nominated players (not including goaltenders) and the players attended try-outs.
