Hockey Divisions and related fees

The divisions for hockey are consistent across Canada. The fees charged for each division varies by Association and is dependant upon the costs associated with running the program in each community.

Squamish Minor Hockey bases its fee structure to recover the net cost of each player that plays hockey in the association. Annually the Executive calculates the costs and determines exactly on a per minute basis what the cost per player per division is. Factors that are included in costs;

Ice charges (these are set by the District of Squamish and vary annually and by time slot depending upon the time of day)

Insurance - Hockey Canada operates a self funded insurance that all players are required to pay into.

BC Hockey and PCAHA fees - These mandatory fees are charged to each Association to cover the costs of the administration of programs.

Referees - These costs are set by division by PCAHA annually.

Uniform Fund - A small charge is made to be used to replace uniforms over time

Rep Fees - Rep teams are assessed an extra annual fee to deal with the costs of extra icetime and carding to BC Hockey. Atom Rep and PeeWee Rep are usually considerably higher as those teams have significantly more icetime and games than House teams.

** Rep tryout fee - $40 fee for rep tryouts is charged in addition to registration for anyone wishing to tryout. This fee is non-refundable after the first tryout.


Divisions (2010/2011)

Hockey 1 & 2  - Annual Fee - $380
5 and 6 years olds - No Rep at this level

Hockey 3 & 4- Annual Fee - $380
7 and 8 year olds - No Rep at this level

Atom - Annual Fee - $410
9 and 10 year old - Rep is available but non-provincial, tryouts are 2 weeks starting in late August

PeeWee - Annual Fee - $430
11 and 12 year old - Full Rep program is available, tryouts are 2 weeks starting in late August

Bantam - Annual Fee - $660
13 and 14 year old - Full Rep program is available, tryouts are 2 weeks starting in late August

Midget - Annual Fee - $680
15, 16 and 17 year old - Full Rep program is available, tryouts are 2 weeks starting in late August

Juvenile
18 and 19 year old - Not currently offered in Squamish
